Mr. Brubaker joined Grubb & Ellis Development Company with financing, budgeting, marketing and leasing responsibility for the Clorox Building, a 490,000 square foot office building designed by Cesar Pelli which was part of a 15-block urban renewal project in downtown Oakland, CA that included five office buildings, a hotel, and a regional mall with three major department stores, all directly connected to the adjacent San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station at one end of the project and the freeway at the opposite end.
Mr. Brubaker negotiated the final form of limited partnership agreement with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company and the construction and permanent financing documents with Connecticut General REIT. He subsequently was given the responsibility to sell part of the ownership interest of Grubb and Ellis through the admission of additional limited partners.
